About the Jewish Community Center
The Jewish Community Center is a non-profit organization governed by a Board of Directors called the Jewish Community Council.The Jewish Community Center was established in 1954 by Corpus Christi Jewish community members and is dedicated to developing, fostering and strengthening Jewish community life in Corpus Christi.Our center provides a common meeting ground for the discussion of all matters pertaining to the general welfare of the community.Our Council welcomes people of all races and religions to take part in our programs and services provided throughout the year.Our children activities, adult functions, senior events, community swimming pool and participation in civic programs make the JCC an important component of Jewish life in Corpus Christi.

JCC Programs

The Jewish Community Center offers a number of services for the Corpus Christi community as a whole.

We offer an excellent (Rising 5 - Star Designated) Preschool Program and Summer Camp (more information can be found by clicking the PRESCHOOL or SUMMER CAMP tabs at the top of the page). We also offer Youth and Senior Events, Mitzvah Projects, Holiday Celebrations, a Monthly Movie Matinee, Book Club & Current Events Discussion Group and new to "The J" A Young Professionals Group that meets once a month. Our “JCC Young Professionals”; is a Corpus Christi Jewish Community Young Adult Social Group. The newly formed group is for adults in their 20’s and 30’s interested in meeting new friends through regular planned activities and events. To get on our mailing the JCC ~ (361) 855-6239

Our philosophy is the belief that the most important assests children can gain from a preschool are independence and a positive self-image. Children deserve the opportunity to learn in a creative environment which is sensitive to individual needs.Our JCC Teachers possess the most valuable qualities including; patience and knowledge of the social, emotional, physical and intellectual needs of each child. We appreciate parents as the child's first and most important teachers and do our utmost to work with each parent to ascertain the needs of the child.The JCC provides an enriching atmosphere where:A.) Children continually build on successful experiences.B.) Children learn by participating in concrete manipulative activities.C.) Children build trust in the world around them and confidence in themselves.D.) Children learn with center activities which stimulate and encourage exploration, imagination, and discovery.

The JCC Preschool is operated by the Jewish Community Council for children of all faiths and denominations who desire high quality educational programs which provides varied, enriching experiences and broadening of the child. The program is flexible and geared to meet the child's needs with emphasis placed on age appropriate social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development.

Summer Enrichment Program

The JCC Summer Enrichment Program gives children a balanced enrichment experience of outdoor and indoor activities. We provide an educational, fun and unique program with a variety of events and activities designed to exercise both mind and body. Each age group rotates through a variety of activities such as Art, Israeli Fun, Brain Maze, Science, Cooking and Swimming. Additionally, we have weekly themes that tie in with fun and educational activities. Opening and closing ceremonies are a daily event and Shabbat Services are held every Friday.The program is operated under the guidance of a Summer Program Director with qualified, skilled teachers and specialists. Experienced teachers and trained assistants are assigned to each limited size groups. The JCC swimming pool is an integral part of the enrichment experience. While swimming the children are supervised by American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors and teachers who are trained in water-safety. Children are offered a multi-level swimming lesson program which maintained with the highest level of continual supervision.

The JCC Pool operates on a salt water filteration system.

This area is 48 ft. x 40 ft. and can safely accommodate up to 120 people.

Outside Patio/ Playground Facility

This area includes out toddler playground, "Big Kid" playground (swings not picutred) with the Gaga Ball pit and Tree House.

It also includes out covered patio area with picnic tables, (not pictured) Kosher grill and basketball court.

We receive donated items weekly.

Cleaning out your closets? Bring in your womens & childrens clothing, jewelry, frames, candlesticks, etc. and receive a tax deduction form.

What is the Combined Jewish Appeal?

The Combined Jewish Appeal of Corpus Christi continues proudly to support the Jewish Community Council of Corpus Christi. Our annual allocation to the JCC fulfills a CJA purpose to support local, national and international Jewish charities and organizations. The JCC provides wonderful facilities for our community to socialize, educate, congregate and participate in various cultural and religious programs and meetings; all, while providing essential social sevices and referrals for those in need. We urge you to do your part to continue to support and utilize the JCC.
